What’s next?

Have you ever looked back at where you’ve been and it all of a sudden make sense? That’s has been the last few months for me.  A few years ago, I was lost (Spiritually and Mentally), depressed, anxious, creeping up the scale and desperate for a way out.  It wasn’t until I completely surrendered all aspects of my life and sought God’s counsel that I found a direction to take.  Then a year ago almost to the day I had a “God idea.” I was scrolling through Facebook and an add for my current college popped up. I never thought of going back to school but as if I was forcefully pushed I pressed “Send me more info.” Within minutes I got a phone call that has literally changed this lost girl to having a clear vision that gets even more high definition by the day...

Workout Safety: The Importance of Warm Up and Cool Down

I never realized knew the difference and the benefits of a warm up and cooled down until I began school. All of my fitness has been Beach Body or Online Trainers. Unfortunately, I was never encouraged to do a Warm-Up or Cool Down nor do they usually program them in. That is why so many people are getting injured working out at home.

Just because you don’t have a treadmill at home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t warm-up. Despite if your workout has a warm-up programmed in I would encourage you to Warm-Up and Cool Down on your own. Unfortunately, a lot of online trainers are either not certified at all, expired certification or no continuing credits. It is critical that you do your due diligience when working with one and check their credentials for your personal safety...

Crazy Prayers!

What’s the craziest prayer you’ve ever prayed?  I don’t mean crazy in the sense that you were praying with bold faith for Kingdom values we know our Father has prepared for us.

I was thinking more along the lines of pretty self-serving, incredibly shallow, and well…crazy!

Mine is a prayer I prayed quite often for the decades of life that I was living under th...

Intermittent Fasting Lowdown

My Full Disclosure Policy

I have confession I haven’t been 100% forthright in my weight loss journey.  For about 10 months I have been intermittent fasting.  When people ask me how I lost 70 lbs I always say it was through Pray, Eat Well and Exercise. It never occurred to me that Intermittent fasting had something to do with it too but looking back it probably has helped me tremendously.  It wasn’t until I was talking to someone about how I intermittent fast and she said, “Well, De that sounds like your secret formula.” I never thought of it like that because at this point it’s second nature I have been doing it for almost a year now.

Intermittent Fasting is an eating pattern that alternates through fasting and feasting periods.  Fasting has been practiced since Biblic...

Self Care is Biblical

Today’s guest blogger is Michelle Hartgraves from Faith, Coffee and Miles.  She is amazing wife, mother and fitness enthusiast with a heart for God.  I am grateful for her contribution to FaithFueled Moms and her valued input on how we must take care of ourselves.  Check out her thoughts:

Imagine what happens when you neglect to give your home the necessary attention it needs,  soon it would be in total disarray, dishes piling up, mountains of laundry needing to be done, etc. Now think about what happens to your physical home (your body, your temple) when it is neglected or your attention is elsewhere; frustration, impatience, weight gain, health problems, spiritual emptiness, and depression are all factors that come into play.

Strengthening our bodies to nurture ourselves physica...

Devotion and Detox Day 18- Blessed

Day 18

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

When you are going through something hard, it’s not easy to see that this trials will result in a blessing. I find that as people we like to set goals and then work our way to achieving. We have our sights set on the end results but resent the hard work it takes to get to the end. When you feel like this is when we need to hold on to God’s promises. That He is always conspiring for our good and there is a blessing at the end of the journey.

Sometimes there are even blessings along the way. Regardless, the last almost 21 days have been hard work physically, emotionally and especially spiritually...

Devotion and Detox Day 17- Renewed

Day 17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 15:17

So many people are looking for a fresh start. I was one of those people. I ran as far as the world would take me and then when I didn’t think I could do things on my own for one more second Jesus stepped in and made my path straight. When I was dead and without Christ that very thought that gives it to God, and it will be all right was easier said than done.

Those who have accepted and walked in Christ will tell you there are fresh starts. You can become a new person by Seeking God in all that you do first, Trusting in Him and being grateful no matter the outcome.
You will be renewed...

Devotion and Detox Day 15- Freedom

Day 15

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

Bondage is something that we are Christians are not meant to experience. Jesus came here, walked with us and died for our freedom. He sacrificed His life so that we may be free to inherit His kingdom. We continually tie ourselves us creating our self made bondage.

So, many things tie us down, guilt, greed, envy, desire, temptation, and self-worth just to name a few. Our worldly desires to have everything or to do things that we know are better keeps us trapped in our self-made bondage. Or coveting what others have or giving into things that tempt us or our flesh-like desires keeps us trapped.

We were meant to be free, not trapped...

Devotion and Detox Day 13- Deliverance

Day 13

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Matthew 6:13

So, I am pre-warning you if you have a hold on temptation and self-control the next three days will not be for you. We are going to be looking at temptation from several angles. As you know, I am a Fitness enthusiast, and I love to lift weights. It’s my alternative to therapy. When I lift or design a workout program for myself or clients, I like to work each muscle from every angle. Why just focus on the front when you have a side and back to it. I decorate my Christmas tree the same all sides are covered. That is how I pray too. It’s just the Type An organizer in me, but I like to cover it ALL.

When it comes to temptation, I don’t think that one size fits all...

Detox and Devotion Day 12- Strength

Day 12

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

I find that it is Godcidental that this prayer fell on a Friday.  The weekend is when we tend to let down our guard and gives ourselves more grace followed by guilt. If you have been abstaining from sugar for the last 12 days this weekend is not the time to reverse all the healing and cleansing your body has been going through.

Philippians 4:13 is a well-known verse that can be applicable in so many different circumstances.  It can be used for emotions, obstacles, grief, self-control, literally for physical strength.  It applies to each person’s situation different too.

What strong or strength means and how you do them with Christ?   Sometimes it’s easier to think of the negative, which isn’t always suggeste...
