Understanding God’s Love

Psalm 127:3 (NIV) “Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.”

He Gives Us Real-Life Examples

Sometimes, I wonder does God give us children to understand His frustrations, unconditional love, empathy, and desire for more than we want for ourselves. I can remember my mother telling me, “I can’t wait till you have children of your own.” Of course, it wasn’t until I had children of my own; I could understand her perspective.

Reminders in the Word

When reading the word, I sometimes relate to motherhood. It is something that is a part of my identity and that I can easily relate and understand. For example, my children’s selective hearing. I will tell my daughter specific instructions, at which she will do something entirely different or my favorite, nothing at all...

4 Ways Praying for My Deployed Husband Helps Our Marriage

I want to introduce Elaine Sinott a devouted women of God, mother and wife.  We met through Social Media and after reading her blog Military Wife After God I knew that she needed to share on FaithFueled Mom!  February will be our Family First February month and Elaine is a great example of just that. Our military families make such a sacrifice for our freedom. I am so grateful for their services and the support of their family!

I recently learned through the Unveiled Wife’s devotionals Wife After God: Drawing Closer to God & Your Husband and 31 Prayers for My Husband: Seeing God Move in His Heart the extreme importance in praying for your husband...

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me

Not alone

Last year, I had a dinner with women from different Christian denomination and social, cultural backgrounds, we discussed a variety of things but the but the topic of God speaking to the women. Each woman was in different milestones of their faith journey.  Some for decades others (or maybe just me) were only a few years, but each interaction with God was personal and specific. God didn’t speak with each of us the same way; the method was all different event the tone. I being one of the newbies (not walking in the Lord as long as the other women), was fascinated.  I wasn’t the only one who thought I heard God.

Not the First Time

This wasn’t my first time being aware of God communicating to me...

Honor My Temple Prayer Challenge Day 27

Today’ prayer: Help us to want more of you Lord.

Psalm 63: 1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Our relationship with God is dependent on what we put into it. He has already come 90% it’s up to us to come the other 10%; He doesn’t require much. When I started devoting time to the Lord every day, it changed me in so many ways. I went from needing God in my life to wanting Him, craving time with Him every day. Like a first love talking on the phone, I can easily get lost talking to God for hours about everything, including my health. Put some time into your relationship with God, give Him your all, make Him priority in your life and crave Him.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you...

When things look bad

Have you ever had one of those “Rotten, terrible, no good, very bad days?” Weeks? Months?  I have to say that most days I am highly blessed and favored. Then there are those few moments in life where I feel like God was working on something or someone else that day? week? and sometimes even months? I know better but sometimes I let my feelings rule. On those days my annoyances get in the way it’s very hard to see anything else. The way I handled those days before Jesus is much different than how I would handle it today.

Girl in Time Out

James 1:2-4 (NIV) Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance...

Honor Your Temple Prayer Challenge Day 4

Day 4

Today’s prayer is: Give us time in our day to make a healthy lifestyle, a priority.

Sit down and think of your daily priorities. On that list where does your health come in, number 4, 5, prayerfully not 10th on the list. Do you carve out at least 20-30 minutes to be active? Do you have to stop at a fast food restaurant because you didn’t think of how or what you were going to eat until you were famished and your hangry buttons were being pushed? You are worth so much more than that. Sometimes you have to take time out of your day whether its the day before or the day of to think of these things. It doesn’t have to be hours, you don’t have to make a major grocery shopping run and then meal prep for hours to eat healthy...

Honor Your Temple Prayer Challenge Day 3

Day 3

Today’s prayer is: Give me provision for all tools I need to honor our temple.

God will provide

When I first started this weight loss journey we were not in a financially stable place. I didn’t have enough money to go out and buy weights, resistance bands. I was stretching the budget to feed our family of five and then to add some additional health foods seemed daunting. I took my struggles, worries and concerns to prayer. In every area God found a way to provide. We aren’t control of these things we can try to figure out a way but He already has one. All we must do is ask for His provision, His guidance and His lead and He will find a way.

If you don’t have the right equipment ask God in prayer, if you don’t have the “right” food pray to God to help you to acquire the right foo...

Honor Your Temple Prayer Challenge Day 2

HYDT2

Day 2

Today’s Prayer is: Give me the commitment to pray for my temple, every day.

We have no problem praying for others, but we often overlook ourselves. I feel the reason why we neglect our temple is because we often don’t prioritize ourselves. We don’t want to be considered self-centered, prideful or vain. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Honoring your temple is important for yourself and those who are around you.

In Psalm 63:1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

We can come to God with any problem, any issue and anything we need. If we don’t come to him, though, we are operating from an empty cup and parched lands...

Feeling Stuck

FeelingStuck

Rocky Foundation

For those of you who have been following me the last 6 months. I have been on a serious weight loss journey. I have changed every aspect of my lifestyle.  I have never had to try so hard to lose weight. I was always a “skinny” girl.  I could eat whatever I wanted. not workout and not even gain a pound. I was only 118 pounds but completely out of shape.   My eating habits were poor, I was a fast food, soda addicted junkie and didn’t care because it didn’t show.  Then, I began to have the diva’s and all of those bad habits caught up to me.

With my first daughter, I gained 95 pounds. I know that is unheard of, I think mothers of multiples don’t even gain that much weight. I wasn’t pregnant with several children I was only carrying one little 6 pound 12 ounce baby girl...

Honor My Temple Prayer Challenge Day 11

Day 11

This week is not over and let me tell you it has been a real test of my dedication to this process. I did a Sugar Detox on January 4, and I had a huge breakthrough. I’ve been feeling excellent about my progress being diligent on my nutrition I fit into some smaller size jeans, and I am 2 sizes away from my goal, but then I did the unthinkable. I got on the scale; I had to for my trainer. For me, that is a weakness and for many others too. When I lost 105 lbs, four years ago I got rid of my scale, I used NSV (NonScale Victories) to measure my success. The scale has always been an issue.

I am an overachiever, and the scale movement sets a standard for me to achieve. I get very down on myself when I don’t accomplish what I set out to or when I don’t see any progress...
