Honor Your Temple Prayer Challenge Day 4

Day 4

Today’s prayer is: Give us time in our day to make a healthy lifestyle, a priority.

Sit down and think of your daily priorities. On that list where does your health come in, number 4, 5, prayerfully not 10th on the list. Do you carve out at least 20-30 minutes to be active? Do you have to stop at a fast food restaurant because you didn’t think of how or what you were going to eat until you were famished and your hangry buttons were being pushed? You are worth so much more than that. Sometimes you have to take time out of your day whether its the day before or the day of to think of these things. It doesn’t have to be hours, you don’t have to make a major grocery shopping run and then meal prep for hours to eat healthy. But you do need to at least take 15-45 minutes out of your day to plan your meals and exercise.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that you must be active for at least 150 minutes per week. That can be broken down in so many different ways. In this day in age we are so busy that we need to schedule physical activity. I do, I actually have it in my planner what time I will workout and I don’t schedule anything during that time to interfere with that appointment I have for myself. Even if you have to multitask, conference call and crunches, TV show and treadmill, make it happen and pray to God to help you to make that happen.

We fill our days with too much, over committing and under valuing ourselves.  Each of us have our vices. Try to spend at least 30 minutes either honoring your temple through exercise activity or healthy eating.  Meal  prep or planning, leisurely or power walking. Just do it prayerfully and make it a priority.
