Honor My Temple Prayer Challenge Day 19

Day 19

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me

Today’s Prayer:  Help me to give myself grace during setbacks or mistakes.

We can show other’s grace, not always, but we cannot give ourselves the same. Setbacks are going to happen we will fall from grace, but God forgives us for much more than having a cookie or skipping a workout. We should do the same. According to the word, we should boast about it.  When we boast about our weakness we can show the power of God.

I was reading Nehemiah 9, and the Israelites were confessing their sins to God. Over and over again they continually and arrogantly dishonored, disobeyed, ignored and was straight up rude and disrespectful towards God. God continually loved them, forgave them, delivered them, protected them and they did far worse than eating a cookie. If God is willing to give the Israelites, grace for intentional disobedience you should do the same.

We are our worst critic, but we have to realize that we will never meet perfection. There is only One who could achieve that, and He died for our sins a long time ago. Once we accept that we should not strive for perfection but endeavor to honor the Lord.

Our mistakes will be considered learning experiences for us to grow from. This journey is a learning process, and you will not be instantaneously successful. You are going to mess up along the way but with a little grace, a lot of prayers, and trust in God you are going to see the results that you desire. In your prayer time, today pray that God helps you to be comfortable in giving yourself grace when you make a mistake.
