Why switching to a Biblical based diet worked for me?

In the last few years, so many things have changed for me inside and out.  My perspective I think has had the greatest change in my life.  I think through my seeking God to help me, trusting in Him and be grateful in the moment has revealed lots.  What I think has become more than just a habit but a lifestyle change for me is eating a Biblical based diet.  Through Bible study and my own, I have researched in the great instruction book for life, the Bible.  Where all questions are answered. So, when people ask what should I be eating, drinking, shaking you can take it back to the Word.  God has something to say on that subject and I promise you Hot Pockets is not on it...

Effective Resistance Training

The flexibility of our schedule in the summer allowed me to go to the gym early in the morning. Now that school has started I have found it much harder to get up for those now even earlier morning AM workouts. I have to get back to a better sleep routine. So, I have disrupted my whole workout routine. It’s only been one full week, so it occurred to me the other day that I have all the essentials to get incredible at home workout. I started this journey working out at home, but I have added some new tools to my arsenal.

At Home, Workouts are the Best!

I forgot how much I love at home workouts. I don’t have to wait my turn, and I don’t have to wear headphones, leave the house, and find a sitter...

Workout Safety: The Importance of Warm Up and Cool Down

I never realized knew the difference and the benefits of a warm up and cooled down until I began school. All of my fitness has been Beach Body or Online Trainers. Unfortunately, I was never encouraged to do a Warm-Up or Cool Down nor do they usually program them in. That is why so many people are getting injured working out at home.

Just because you don’t have a treadmill at home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t warm-up. Despite if your workout has a warm-up programmed in I would encourage you to Warm-Up and Cool Down on your own. Unfortunately, a lot of online trainers are either not certified at all, expired certification or no continuing credits. It is critical that you do your due diligience when working with one and check their credentials for your personal safety...

7+ Fit Date Ideas for Couple’s

Love is in the air well at least that’s what the commercial said yesterday. Valentine’s isn’t our thing! Yes, we think love should be celebrated everyday.  Just like most holiday’s I appreciate the fact that there has been a National Holiday to remind people to show the one they love some extra special attention.

We’re not big on giving gifts to each other. I love cut flowers, but I have an expensive habit of buying those weekly when I go to the produce stand. I am not a big chocolate lover and hanging out with all of the couples’ of South Jersey at dinner is not my idea of romance. My husband is my best friend, and I feel like life is too short to celebrate our love with dinner and a movie. I want to make memories! I much rather invest in moments than physical gifts...

Another Fun Saturday

A few weekends ago, I was blessed to Dance, Exercise and Have fun for a good cause!  I love to dance! Before I recommitted to Christ, you could easily find a girlfriend and me at the club till it shut down, dancing like it was our job. I don’t mean on the pole, though; we just loved to dance. I’m not sure if it’s a Jersey Girl thing but pounding the floor in high heels is what we do around her Friday, Saturday night. I found something that takes you me back to my club days but in a healthier way that honors my temple.

Last weekend, I was invited my Fit On Purpose to attend their KerBOOMKa for Breast Cancer Event with Fierce Fitness by Tru Adams who you all know that I adore. I was fortunate to experience the creator of the Jillian Michaels Sweat Inc. TV Show p...

Music that makes you lift

My B.C. Self

Sometimes, I refer to my B.C. days, my Before Christ days. Some people are ashamed of their past, and others embrace it. I am the latter, I have done some shameful things in the past, but I know that I have been redeemed. I am not proud of this stuff, but they make me who I am today.

In my B.C. days, I used to swear like a sailor (I am a Puerto Rican, New York, US Navy Sailors daughter), so it was somewhat natural. When I had my first daughter I tried to cut back on my language.  It wasn’t until I accepted Jesus into my heart that I completely eradicated it from my vocabulary. It just doesn’t feel right praising God in one breath and then cursing the car in front of me for slamming on their brakes in the next...

Getting My Functional Exercise

Functional Exercise

Functional exercises are performed every day in our workouts but have you considered doing a Functional Exercise workout to your weekly routine. As of recently this primary type of activity has not only caught my attention but is now I include it daily in my exercise.  It only takes me less than 20 minutes, and I am feeling the difference a month later.

What is Functional Exercise?

The point of the Functional exercise is to train your muscles to perform the everyday task safely and productively. Huh? Isn’t that the whole point of the exercise. Well yes, but functional training is more specific than that.  Functional exercises teach your muscles to work together and get them ready for your day to day tasks...

Idea World Blogfest 2016

I attended Idea World Blogfest with Sweat Pink

Last week, I went to a magical place, far far away called Los Angeles, and I entered into the world known as IDEA.  It was such an amazing experience, and I was blessed to been able to attend it.  I went to the IdeaWorld BlogFest Convention welcomed with open arms.  I got to hang, learn and be around my people. Over 14,000 Fitness Professionals from 54 Countries attended and the entire week was buzzing with health, nutrition, fitness and wellness. It was everything that I expected!

Exactly what I didn’t expect

I expected to be educated about blogging. Suspected that I would meet a few women that I connected with and were nice.  Intended on eating every day I was there...
