Living the GF Life

faithfueledfeature

Okay, guys! I may be going all into living this gluten free life.  Seven months ago I was tested for my allergies and among the seasonal allergies that I already knew of wheat and peas was one of the allergic reactions I had.  When I was in my teens, I had an allergy test with the same results but didn’t think anything of it. When I was 16, I didn’t care about my allergies and until that day didn’t realize the effect of ignoring my allergy had on my body.  I used to say regularly, “My stomach hates me,” after every meal.  I would get horrible headaches, itchy scratchy throat, constant post nasal drip always clearing my throat.  I always associated the throat and nasal to my known indoor/outdoor allergies.  I never thought it could be from the things I was eating...

Progress in Action

FaithFueled Friday
When was the last time you admired yourself in the mirror? When have you showed your self love? Gazed in the mirror and saw God’s beautiful creation. I find that we use the mirror incorrectly. Instead of finding why we are special we are critiquing why we don’t live up to some fictionalized standard. It is so easy to get overly critical of our appearance, character, actions, and habits; Especially when we are not meeting our expectations of what we should.

My Mirror Avoidance

Throughout my weight loss journey, my vanity and worldly views would steal my joy.  Looking back now that I am mental, spiritually and physically happy I realize this is a big problem for lots of people.  Hindsight is always crystal clear...

Getting My Functional Exercise

affiliate-disclosure

Functional Exercise

Functional exercises are performed every day in our workouts but have you considered doing a Functional Exercise workout to your weekly routine. As of recently this primary type of activity has not only caught my attention but is now I include it daily in my exercise.  It only takes me less than 20 minutes, and I am feeling the difference a month later.

What is Functional Exercise?

The point of the Functional exercise is to train your muscles to perform the everyday task safely and productively. Huh? Isn’t that the whole point of the exercise. Well yes, but functional training is more specific than that.  Functional exercises teach your muscles to work together and get them ready for your day to day tasks...

Get Brycked Up!

I must get B.R.Y.C.K.E.D again!

I got B.R.Y.C.K.E.D Up, and I want to do it again and again. Two weeks ago, I was able to participate in something so fun, intense and different.  It was an hour and 20 minutes of pure sweat, laughs, smiles and hardcore non-stop workout.  I got B.R.Y.C.K.E.D Up, and I am now hooked.  I was invited by a friend to try a new workout; Of course, I was gamed!  When I got there, it was instantly enticing.  It was like stepping into a club there were Black Light, Strobe, Disco Ball, Carribean, Latin, Hip Hop music and sensory overload!  After the 2 minute warm up I was drenched in sweat and Tru Adams, the creator of Brycked Fitness was like, “Now let’s get started.” It was on an popping from that point forward.

Pound it!

Pound Fitness

The last few weeks have been an adventure in fitness. I have been trying out some cool classes like Insanity, Kangoo, themed runs, and Pound! Have you ever Pounded or also known as Rip Stix? It’s  interesting class it’s full cardio movement and drumming class.  You use weighted drumsticks and concentrate on different areas as you drum to the beat.  Keeping up with the rhythm and drumming almost distracts you from the pain in your quads from the 50 consecutive body weight squats you just completed in 1 minute.  I would describe Pound as a cardio workout that combines Pilates, isometric poses and plyometrics.  I attended a class at The Riverton Health and Fitness Center. The class I took was 30 minutes, and it was all I needed to do.

My Body on a Carb Cycle

My Full Disclosure Policy

FaithFueledfRIDAY

Carb Cycling, some consider it a Diet Fad others consider it a weight loss secret and some see it for Body Builders and Bikini Competitors.  When I first heard of it I totally dismissed it because to take away my carbs seemed like cruel and unusual punishment.  After trying it I am considering adopting it as a new lifestyle change.  As you know I am apart of a workout program called Beyond Fit Life  with the workout and my own workout routines. I have been able to lose over 55 pounds in less than 10 months.  I even came to a point where I had plateaued which is when I incorporated my own workout routines and began to see progress again...

Embarking on a weight loss journey

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though He is not far from any one of us, Acts 17:27

Weight loss is a journey. What happens to you when you realized the reason you are overweight physically and underweight spiritually? You do something about it. About 4 months ago, I got fed up with my physical appearance and embarked on a weight loss journey.  The first month was easy mentally. I hired a virtual trainer, I was seeing results and was happy to find something that worked.  Then, the next month came and that beginning puppy love started to wear off.  I had more than being physically overweight to deal with; which is often the case when losing weight...

Feeling Stuck

Rocky Foundation

For those of you who have been following me the last 6 months. I have been on a serious weight loss journey. I have changed every aspect of my lifestyle.  I have never had to try so hard to lose weight. I was always a “skinny” girl.  I could eat whatever I wanted. not workout and not even gain a pound. I was only 118 pounds but completely out of shape.   My eating habits were poor, I was a fast food, soda addicted junkie and didn’t care because it didn’t show.  Then, I began to have the diva’s and all of those bad habits caught up to me.

With my first daughter, I gained 95 pounds. I know that is unheard of, I think mothers of multiples don’t even gain that much weight. I wasn’t pregnant with several children I was only carrying one little 6 pound 12 ounce baby girl...

Honor My Temple Prayer Challenge Day 11

Day 11

This week is not over and let me tell you it has been a real test of my dedication to this process. I did a Sugar Detox on January 4, and I had a huge breakthrough. I’ve been feeling excellent about my progress being diligent on my nutrition I fit into some smaller size jeans, and I am 2 sizes away from my goal, but then I did the unthinkable. I got on the scale; I had to for my trainer. For me, that is a weakness and for many others too. When I lost 105 lbs, four years ago I got rid of my scale, I used NSV (NonScale Victories) to measure my success. The scale has always been an issue.

I am an overachiever, and the scale movement sets a standard for me to achieve. I get very down on myself when I don’t accomplish what I set out to or when I don’t see any progress...

Old Habits Never Die

journey

We can change a old habit but it will never die. The definition of change is to become something different. I had a love-hate relationship with fitness. When I first met my husband, my husband (not at the time but soon to be) was a personal trainer and I was one of those very skinny fat people. A good metabolism and no children made a body good but I was very unhealthy. I ate so many bad things, I smoked (secretly from my then boyfriend who hated it), I drank socially, I hated working out but my husband inspired me to change some of my ways-smoking, physical inactivity. It was great! I began forming new habits I began to change and become something different. Just like any journey we take we start off somewhere and we end up somewhere completely different...
