My Figure Prep Update

There are Amazon and other affiliate links which I do make a commission from. My Full Disclosure Policy

So, a few months ago I made this huge announcement. (to all those who would listen) I was going to train to compete in National Physique Committee (NPC) Figure Division “Bodybuilding” Competition.  I still get a lot of, “Why do you want to do that?” and honestly, in short, I’ve always thought it was cool and I am an adult and one of the benefits of being an adult we can (within reason) do what we want. Me, I want to try to compete in a body building competition. I love the discipline, the results and the training.  I chose figure over other division because for one I don’t want to do a routine in an eenie weenie teenie bikini, no thank you...

Are your working out dehydrated?

I received the Brita Stream Rapids Water Filtration for free from Influenster in exchange for a Review.  The fact that I received this for free does not effect my opinion. My Full Disclosure Policy

Are you working out dehydrated and don’t even know it? If you are a sedentary person according to National Academy of Sports Medicine, you men need 3 Liters a day and women need 2.2 Liters a day. If you are trying to lose weight, you should drink 8 ounces of water for every 25 pounds that you are overweight which is a little over 3 ounces for every 3 lbs of extra weight you carry. Is that a gallon? Nope and lots of people are over consuming water with the gallon mentality...

Tackling Food Fixation

I received this book for free in exchange for a review. Receiving the book has no effect on my review.  There are Amazon affiliate links which I do make a commission from. My Full Disclosure Policy

“The Struggle is real,” I know that is a cliche at this pointI read the book, Full, it’s something that continuously looped in my head. I wish I would have found Full months ago, but then again I don’t think I was ready for it. For those of you who have been following my story, you have seen me lose a gross amount of weight in the last two years, but the one thing that although I am growing in daily still have not mastered is my food fixation and motivation.

It’s been almost two years, and I have made some serious lifestyle changes for myself and family...

Devotion and Detox Day 15- Freedom

Day 15

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

Bondage is something that we are Christians are not meant to experience. Jesus came here, walked with us and died for our freedom. He sacrificed His life so that we may be free to inherit His kingdom. We continually tie ourselves us creating our self made bondage.

So, many things tie us down, guilt, greed, envy, desire, temptation, and self-worth just to name a few. Our worldly desires to have everything or to do things that we know are better keeps us trapped in our self-made bondage. Or coveting what others have or giving into things that tempt us or our flesh-like desires keeps us trapped.

We were meant to be free, not trapped...

Devotion and Detox Day 6- Call on Him

and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me Psalm 50:15

Day 6

Too often I hear or women not completing their goals because they just couldn’t do it anymore. When I ask if they prayed their way through often, it’s an afterthought. I too have to try to go it alone especially in times of trouble.

My very first class in college was Intro to Communication. I was the last class of an amazing professor who retired that year. I learned so much valuable information from Professor Spicer. After all of these years, one thing has stuck with me. Professor Spicer told us in class that when people are stressed or frightened, they tend to revert to their original language...

Devotion and Detox Day 1- Overcome

I NEED THIS NOW!

I need to detox! Not because the nation is getting fit and detoxing. Not because their a special or a tea I really am looking to try but because I am addicted to Sugar.  I know this because as soon as I get a little bit I lose all sense of self control and over indulge every time. I know because when I am looking to mindlessly eat it’s the first thing that is on my mind.  It is also the reason that I am doing a Sugar Detox on January 9th with my FaithFueled Life Women.

NOT MY FIRST RODEO

This will be my third Sugar Detox and this will be the second time I intentionally used prayer to get me through.  I had greater success.  I am also leading this time versus being a participant so that adds a greater motivation to stick it out...

When things look bad

Have you ever had one of those “Rotten, terrible, no good, very bad days?” Weeks? Months?  I have to say that most days I am highly blessed and favored. Then there are those few moments in life where I feel like God was working on something or someone else that day? week? and sometimes even months? I know better but sometimes I let my feelings rule. On those days my annoyances get in the way it’s very hard to see anything else. The way I handled those days before Jesus is much different than how I would handle it today.

Girl in Time Out

Marriage Prayer Challenge Day 9

Day 9

Today’s Prayer: Praying for our husband’s responsibilities

1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially  for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Every morning for 10 minutes before my husband and daughters go to work and school we have devotion.  (If you’re looking for a great family devotional I have finally found one after month’s of searching) We begin in prayer, do the devotional and I usually end in prayer. This is my opportunity to pray for my family with my family before they go out into the world. I look forward to it, I always pray for protection for them, that they will be a light for the Lord and what we learned from our study may they be able to keep in their hearts and teach it to others...
