Cleaning is a Family Game

 My Full Disclosure Policy

The chore struggle

I have three little diva’s. When I refer to them as “lil diva’s” people always think that they are temperamental entitled little girls. When I am referring to my diva’s I think of them as divine, inspired, virtuous, anointed little girls that are being molded to be a powerful witness’ for God.  But they can also be very temperamental especially when it comes to cleaning chores around the house. The attitude that I get when I ask if their room is clean or the living room is vacuumed could be considered “diva”.

Techniques used in the past

I have tried several different strategies to make chores enjoyable in my house and less of a fight...

Embarking on a weight loss journey

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though He is not far from any one of us, Acts 17:27

Weight loss is a journey. What happens to you when you realized the reason you are overweight physically and underweight spiritually? You do something about it. About 4 months ago, I got fed up with my physical appearance and embarked on a weight loss journey.  The first month was easy mentally. I hired a virtual trainer, I was seeing results and was happy to find something that worked.  Then, the next month came and that beginning puppy love started to wear off.  I had more than being physically overweight to deal with; which is often the case when losing weight...

Toxic intake affects your weight loss

See My Full Disclosure Policy toxic intake

Defeating the purpose of weight loss

Our toxic intake is sabotaging our weight loss efforts! What if I told you that your lotion is causing you to gain weight? What if I told you that what you put on your body; or absorb from the environment that you live in will negate a “clean eating diet?” If you’re washing your dishes with chemical laden dish detergent then eating or drinking out of those dishes is a directly going into your blood stream. Something that seems harmless such as your shampoo bottle ingredient labeled “fragrance” can contain over 4,000 compounds of toxic chemicals. Why is this allowed you asked? Because beauty products and skin care are under regulated in the United States...

Toys through the Stages

Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Car

The saying, “they grow too fast”, is truly felt when your the mother of a toddler. My littlest diva just turned one in July and ever since her development has been growing leaps and bounds. The fact that she is the youngest sister of an 11 and 7 year old doesn’t help either. I feel like I was just buying stacking toys, and color/shape sorters and here she is almost 16 months and I am searching pretend toys.  I was so happy to receive some awesome toys that grow with my curious and every day advancing toddler.

We received from Fisher Price two toys, at first I didn’t see the value of the stages but after thoroughly testing them out I do now. Today, as I was going through the toy box to see what toys were consignment store worthy I had an “Aha” moment...

Today’s Prayer: Praying for communication

Ephesians 4:29 (ESV) “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

I have been married for 13 years, for some we are still in the infancy of marriage for others that is a really long time and sadly for American statistics we are breaking records. Regardless, of how long the reason why we work so well is because we openly communicate. Good, bad, ugly, embarrassing, don’t want to hear it at the moment communication. Meaning you have to both hear the words, listen to them, interpret them and then respond and it needs to be between at least two people...

Marriage Prayer Challenge Day 6

Today’s Prayer: Praying for mutual forgiveness.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

I have been married for almost 13 years; there has been times that my husband has done something that has annoyed, upset or hurt. Despite, what the “thing” was every time I made a conscious choice to forgive him. At the end of the day two different people with two personalities and although we have been married going on 13 years it would take a lot for us to do something to each other that we wouldn’t almost immediately forgive.  Now, don’t get me wrong we do know each others triggers so you would think we would avoid them, but we are humans of the flesh and still sometimes cross the line...

Marriage Prayer Challenge Day 5

Today’s Prayer: Praying for unity with our husband

Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

When my husband and I are united we are so much stronger than apart. Whether that be in disciplining or praising our children, working with others, even in prayer. We are to pray for unity with our husband in purpose, mind and spirit.  We are partners and in the Lord’s eyes one. Today in your prayer time let’s unite with our husband in (close as possible) perfect unity.

Marriage Prayer Challenge Day 4

Two are better than one,    because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Today’s Prayer: Praying for friendship with our husband.

I am so blessed to have married my best friend. He literally was just my friend for three years before I even considered dating him. Thirteen years later, I still confide in him, joke with him and rely on him. When I read this verse I always think of the friendship that my husband and I have. Although, its never occurred to me to pray for that relationship. It has always came natural, but just like I pray for a girlfriend I should be praying for my husband and our friendship...

Marriage Prayer Challenge Day 3

Marriage Prayer Challenge Day 3

Isaiah 26:12 (NIV) LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

Day 3:

Marriage is a place that you seek refuge and go to be filled up by your spouse. I think this prayer for peace is key to creating a safe haven for the world’s woes.  I think of peace as harmony, tranquility and calm. It reflects the absence of conflict or strife, but also an agreement of mutual concord between individuals. Today, let’s try to create that tranquility and pray for peace in our marriage.

Day 2:

Today is the day to “pray for your husband’s heart”, pray that God guards his heart. Softens things of God and have a heart for you and your family. My husband works hard providing for our family and being a strong man. I pray that the hardships of the world don’t effect him. I also pray that he has the opportunity to be a light for God to lead people closer to Him. Our family bible verse is Matthew 5:16, so I pray that He is able to do that despite what the world brings to him.Today in your prayers let’s include our husband’s hearts.
